LAIV wasn't conceived on the drawing board. It came about because the same problem kept cropping up in every website project.
The same thing happens in almost every website project: The design is finalized, everyone is excited, and then things get bogged down on the front end. Weeks of implementation, rounds of revisions, and just before launch, no one dares to change anything anymore. We’ve seen this happen often enough that we’re no longer willing to put up with it. So we built the tool we needed ourselves: one that turns Figma components into finished, publishable CMS modules—deterministic, verifiable, and without compromising on quality. First in our own projects. Then for clients. Today, as a product with its own license.
LAIV in a nutshell
LAIV is a software product developed by the Cologne-based digital agency denkwerk that converts components designed in Figma into production-ready front-end code and finished modules for enterprise content management systems with a single click.
Sulu and Ibexa are supported in production; additional systems are on the roadmap. LAIV thus defines the “Design-to-Live” category: ready-to-use, publishable modules instead of code drafts that require further work.

Behind LAIV is the Cologne-based digital agency denkwerk, which has been in the digital business for over 25 years and serves clients ranging from large corporations to strong mid-sized companies. LAIV is developed there by a dedicated product team and rigorously tested in real-world client projects before features are released. That’s our quality promise: We don’t sell anything we don’t use ourselves. This website was also built with LAIV.
